Fred Conrad has been appointed director of the University of Michigan Program in Survey Methodology.  Fred succeeds the Program's founding director, Jim Lepkowski who will now serve as associate director of the program.  For addtional details.

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 - JPSM/MPSM Survey Methodology Seminar Series with Daniel Oberski, Visiting Professor at JPSM, University of Maryland.  Daniel will present " Predicting the reliability of a survey question from its design characteristics".  The presentation will begin at 1:00pm in 368 ISR via video from the University of Maryland.

Monday, November 28, 2011 - JPSM/MPSM Survey Methodology Seminar Series with Michael Rendall, Professor of Sociology at UMd.  Michael will present "Multiple Imputation for Combined-Survey Estimation with Incomplete Regressors in One but not Both Surveys".  The presentation will begin at 12:00 noon in 368 ISR. Thursday, October 20 -Dissertation Defense:  Brady West.  "The Error Properties of Interviewer Observations and their Implications for Nonresponse Adjustment of Survey Estimates".  The defense will begin at 9:00am in 368 ISR and will be shared via video to the University of Maryland's Joint Program in Survey Methodology.

PhD candidate, Ashley Bowers, assumed leadership for Indiana University's Center for Survey Research on Aug. 15. Ashley previously served as director of the Statistics and Methodology unit for the University of Michigan's Survey Research Operations.  Press Release.
