The MSSISS 2016 Student Committee is pleased to announce that year 2016’s Michigan Student Symposium for Interdisciplinary Statistical Sciences (MSSISS) will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in the Rackham Building.The symposium will feature oral and poster presentations from graduate students across the university working in statistical methodology and applied statistics. Awards will be given to the winners of best oral presentation, best poster presentation and best departmental poster presentation. In addition, we are fortunate to have Dr. Michael I. Jordan from the University of California, Berkeley as the keynote speaker this time.All students are encouraged to submit abstracts and/or register for the symposium. The deadline for submitting abstract is Friday, February 26, 2016. Please submit your abstract on our website:https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/mssiss/If you wish to be considered for an oral presentation, please be sure to check the box indicating this choice. If you submit an abstract for either a poster presentation or an oral presentation, registration to the symposium is not required. General registration should be completed on our website if you plan to attend the symposium but do not choose to do a presentation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to registrants.
